Pack your bags, we’re going on a trip!

The launch of Arkangel AI newsletter 🚀

If you’re taking a trip anywhere in the world this summer, we’re sending hugs. As airlines are cutting tens of thousands of flight schedules, the excitement of going on holiday is still powerful. We are also taking a trip this summer, and I wanted to share it with you.

The goal: To create a community of like-minded people interested in helping make the healthcare system cheaper, faster, and better. And we are starting with this newsletter. You could help us by sharing it with others or giving feedback to improve it.

PS: We are still figuring things out as we go, and we would love to get your ideas on which topics should be covered and which format should we should use? (if you have any ideas, let me know)

At Arkangel AI, we continue to grow. We are generating new alliances with AI heroes from companies like Sanofi, AstraZeneca, Boston Scientific, Comfama, and Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia - FCV (soon to be announced), and we keep developing new algorithms that will soon lead us to meet our 2030 goal to impact 1 billion patients through early disease detection. This week we are pleased to launch our newsletter with you officially. We will share with you our journey and exciting content around healthcare transformation.

Highlights:

1. We publish an article in the European Respiratory Society journal.

We are happy to share one of our published journals with you all. It talks about the use of one of our predictive models in clinical deterioration led by our great friend Dr. Felipe Reyes.

2. A group of high school students develops an algorithm to detect myeloid leukemia

Around 500 children die from this type of cancer in Colombia. In alliance with the Cartagena International School, a group of children from 5 to 11 years old are developing several predictive algorithms using our no-code software to detect myeloid leukemia.

It is exciting to share knowledge with children and for them to have a better future for the people around them.

3. We launch an AI pricing calculator

One of the biggest questions we get asked is how much it costs to build an AI/ML algorithm? We figure - why not build a cost calculator for everyone to see it? This week we launch just that.

How does it work? Simple:

  • Add the number of projects you want to build.

  • Choose the region your team is located.

We will run the total cost to train, test, deploy and scale your algorithms, including human labor and cloud costs. Once you have that, you will be able to compare that to our pricing structure and see how it compares. The idea behind this calculator is to show the hidden cost of AI.

Next week we will be open sourcing our cost calculator for you all in a whitepaper here. Stay tuned

4. Our community keeps growing

We did a keynote talk at Tecnoquímicas S.A about the power of AI in healthcare to dozens of its employees. Some of them connected so profoundly with the Ark mission that they sent messages like this one:

We participated in the 2022 Bogotá Meditech tradeshow and got to talk to some of our friends from Boston Scientific, Sura, Fundación Santa Fé, and Medisinú.

We also asked our LinkedIn network about the type of ideas they want to discuss a got several exciting ideas; if you identify yourself and want to be part of this upcoming community, you can sign up in the button below:

Finally, if you are in the health industry and want to know about the opportunities that artificial intelligence brings to the sector, visit our Ark Library and follow and follow us on Medium as we share more ideas. And do not forget to share any ideas you have to build a community around healthcare and tech.

    Best regards,
